Thanks Microsoft
It’s not often that I find myself saying this, but thanks Microsoft.

It has been ages since I last updated my blog. Perhaps I should rename it to “Overdue Update,” since those are mostly what I post. My recent inactivity is made doubly obvious by the fact that the index page of my website is still nothing but boring, basic HTML. How long ago did I say there was going to be an exciting new appearance? Too long ago. It almost makes you wonder if I still take my Internet presence seriously. The answer is yes, but I’ll go into that later. First, I’ll give you a little update on what I’ve been up to recently.
I would just like to take a moment to note that the semester is finally over, and that I am overwhelmed with joy. It was a nasty semester, with a landscape crafted primarily of valleys. Today I slept in to 3:00pm, and have to say that it was quite possibly the most wonderful sleep I have had since the semester started. It was even accompanied by a weird dream. Things don’t get much better than that. I now face the daunting task of figuring out how to spend this wonderful day of freedom. Should I read a book? Should I work on a new program? Should I be as lazy as possible an accomplish as little as I possibly can? Now that sounds like an idea! Happy winter break my fellow college students. Good riddance to that crappy semester!
After a weekend of glorious insomnia, I was dead tired this Monday. Naturally, I decided to take a nap after work, and ended up sleeping way too damn long. Now it is 4:55 in the morning. I’m passing some time listening to Keith and the Girl, which is a pretty funny podcast that you should certainly check out. I think that insomnia must be self perpetuating. You stay up late, you are tired during the day, you take a big ass nap, only to wake up at 2:00 in the morning and find yourself incapable of sleeping. It is a horrible cycle. I honestly think at times that, if given the opportunity, I could become completely nocturnal.
Oh, an important update for those rare individuals who send a comment my way every now and again: I have enabled Akismet (OMG!). Basically, it filters out spam so I don’t have to do it myself, thereby allowing users to continue being able to post without registering. Thanks for the tip Retrospector! Rejoice!
After reading about Retrospector’s recent adventures with Problogger.com, I figured I would go see what Problogger was all about. Right away I saw something that caught my eye: Wordpress themes! As it turns out, my own blog had been sitting around with the lame, smooth, pretty default Wordpress theme, which does not suit my art style or my personality AT ALL. Anyhow, I started browsing through some of the themes when I discovered Mars Spirit by B A Kahn. It had that dark, futuristic feel to it, which is very much a part of my own artwork. In fact, it actually reminded me of the Auriga interior from Alien Resurrection. Then all of a sudden I got to thinking what some of my artwork would look like plugged into the header, and I realized I had to give my blog a facelift. This is the result. I think you can all agree (at least those of you who know me personally) that this theme suits me much better! Oh, I almost forgot! The cropped image that I used in the header is a drawing I did during Christmas vacation my Freshman year in college. It is entitled Unrest, and it is one of my personal favorites. As always, stay tuned!
I have officially migrated my blog over to Wordpress. Unfortunately this means many of my old posts have disappeared, but I promise you there will be more to come. As always, stay tuned.
